Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Honestly it felt really good giving that stuff out because people were genuinely excited to win a lot of those prizes so it is fun seeing people running up to me with big smiles on their faces. For a lot of people, winning those raffles made the show/day/month for them so it is cool being a...
If they are light scratches, once the tank is filled with water they will be hard to see. If you are going to have one tank, a Cad lights tank is a great tank to have and I think you are off to a good start. You can do 4 fish in there easy you just have to really plan out what you want and...
You should be fine, heck there are some people that run their whole systems on sunlight. Depending on the size of the tank, temp might be an issue if it gets way too much sunlight but it would have to be a lot of direct sunlight on a smaller tank. It can lead to some algae growth but only if...
I thought they did another great job with RAP as always. We did not make it up there until late Saturday, but got to spend all day Sunday there and had a lot of fun. First thank you to all who volunteered and helped at the NJRC booth, it really does help and the show gets better every year...
We keep gardening gloves in the tank room, I have never gotten it this bad but we have both gotten a few bristles before and that is uncomfortable for a few days (we call it reefing fingers). When we know we are playing with certain things in the frag tanks or fuge, we put the gloves on.
Unfortunately I am going to a beer fest in the city Saturday morning so I won’t be able to help with the line. Nikki and I will be here Sunday morning to help with the line.
Rock in Sump: My personal opinion is as little as possible. It sounds like you are going to run the tank with a minimal load so you should be ok with your live rock in the display plus the fuge you talked about setting up. Also this will depend on what type of corals you plan on growing out...
Thank you all for coming, we had a blast as always. It was great seeing old faces and meeting new ones as well. Thank you to Philadelphia Aquatics for the raffle frags and to DangerDave for bringing even more frags. Hope to see a lot of you guys at RAP in a few weeks.
Yeah we have frags and equipment for you if you can make it tomorrow or we can always pick another day. NJRC has always tried to help schools and classrooms get setup and run.
