Amen to that John I feed almost exclusively home made except spectrum Thera+a pellets
I can't see spending 4 times as much on food that I can make in the blender in a short time
Loose the back of the stand. The fans will be loud I tried this method and it didn't work for me I had to cut the back panel completely out. To much heat to much moisture all bad news. The stand needs to breath. I don't think the fans will do enough, IMO
Just make sure the back is not relied...

Good luck guys, man I would hate to see that awesome rock you have go. Maybe it's not your rock at all maybe it is your exchange rate that is the root of all of your problems like you were saying mike. Can you drill another overflow in there and return? Is the back glass tempered? If the power...
Nice! Rock looks great how much rock is in there? Looks a little light will it be enough to run you tank? Are you planning on some rock in the sump? I love the tank it looks great wow I would love to have a tank that size

Hi Joel, welcome to the club.
If all else equal and you only get one piece of advice from this club IMO this should be it........SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, patience is everything in this hobby along with good maintenance and you will be successful. Good luck can't wait to see the tale of the tank. :)
Update time,
Well the tank has stabilized to some point, but now I'm battling ciao bacteria at least that's what I think it is. It's red and slimy and can be sucked off the rocks with a siphon.
Here's some picks anyone with some advice please chime in. I have had only limited experience with...
I had a pair in that 8 gallon and never seen the shrimp I thought it was dead and gone the only way I new it wasn't was the constantly changing sand bed. Man those suckers can dig.
