I agree that barbed fitting looks like it is increasing velocity I just have a straight pipe about 2 inches under the water and it makes a lot of bubbles but when the sock goes on the bubbles are contained ill take a pic Hope this helps Ahhhh sideways again LOL

Use the mesh socks I have the other type in my sons 40b and they clog way to quick but I use the mesh in my 90 and it goes at least a week

Use a hack saw if you can't get the cutter in there. You are better off with the flex anyway 90s are pretty harsh on flow

That sucks I hope it survives just keep feeding it if it will eat it's got a chance. I found sometimes smaller tangs have a hard time acclimating to tank life. Also do you have a 20 gallon 10 Is kinda small maybe it tank size is stressing it out. Good luck
