That's nice you have a friends shop to make those. I ended up ordering doors online for my stand since it was over my head to make them.

I used 80/20. Bought the parts off Amazon. Here's a pic of the set up I came up with. You could just as easily mount to the stand rather than the wall like I did.
When I was setting up my sump I had a few people suggest that I not restrict flow from the overflow to the sump. This probably raises the opportunity for an overflow. Just an FYI. Looks good though!!

I drilled holes through the middle of the rocks and have a pvc tube inserted through it to hold them up straight. Also used zip ties to hold top pieces together. The very bottom rocks are flat on the bottom in order to give everything good support.

I use a 5100k screw in led bulb from lowes. Just got it hooked up so I'm waiting to see some results. Do you keep your fuge light on 24/7 or opposite your display tank?
