If you plan on setting up the tank next week, I would at least place the tank in the spot where you want, fill it up with rodi and mix the salt and water in the tank with a heater. No rocks and no sand. The water should be mixed thoroughly by next week with the correct salinity. At this point...

What if you build a canopy with an open top and put the netting on top of the canopy. This way, you can make the canopy as low as you want. Does this make sense? The open top also helps from trapping heat in the canopy.

Thats a pretty good idea. Glad you like the canopy. Yeah, all I do is slide the led's over when I want add anything in the tank. The rocks that I have are huge. So in this case, I have to remove the canopy. This will only happen once, unless you make a stupid mistake and shim the tank wrong...
