Those rails are nice. Unfortunately I put some time in making the L-brackets. The brackets also allow me to put a splash guard on the led's since I'm not able to raised them high enough, to prevent splash from the water. Thanks
Where do you find these pics? LOL...... I'm definitely not looking...
I don't know if you moved the corals ever since you taken the pics of the SPS's but I think corals 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 are set to close to each other. I did this mistake and now they don't have any room to grow.
My goal is to have all SPS in my new tank. I am thinking of adding a Blue Face Angel. My plan is to feed the tank at least three times to keep the Angel satisfy.
Here is the tank all painted. Not to impress with it. I think to much black going on. Maybe when its all filled up with fish and corals, it will look different. I still have to add molding to the front panel. I also stopped at AO's today to pick up some loc-line for the returns. Finally, I was...
I was at a lfs (some of you might know the lfs I'm talking about by the time you finish reading this post) and mentioned to the owner that there is no circulation on the live rocks that he is selling. He told me that there is no need for circulation and heater. He stated that he keeps his rocks...
Thanks. I wish my tank was tall also. It was a pain cleaning the bottom glass, but I got use to it. As of who made the tank; Craig did...... Craig WHO, you ask?....... Craiglist. LOL!
Just playing. When I picked it up from the guy, he said his lfs ordered it from him and he didn't know who made...
Thanks
Nothing special. Just cleaned the glass with windex and paint. I used Painter's Touch Flat Acrylic Latex Black General-Purpose Paint. I also used a roller not a brush. I've seen tanks where people used a brush and it doesn't look to good.
I have the covers for them in the garage. I...
Moving along........
Here is the tank with the bottom glass painted black.
I had to redo the plumbing again. Not all of it, just the double wye's. The returns are 1.5 inch and the returns are 1 inch.
All glued up.
I'm hoping to have water in the tank by the end of the week...
I think I'm going to take Brians advise. It will be to much work to build a riser and move the tank. Just thinking about move that tank makes me cringe.
I have some LG cheapo dehumidifier that I got at walmart. The basement is normally not that humid. The problem is that I have that open 300 gallon tub down in the basement. The sooner I finish this build the faster I can shut the unit off.
I'm not sure. What I might do is just add 3 bags of...
I was also thinking of implementing the daily water change to my system. The BIG benefit for me would be that the high alk in my new water won't be to drastic as doing a 50 gallon water change at once. Funny thing is that I was also reading today about people doing water changes with there...
Thanks everyone. Setting this tank up has been a challenge. I can't wait to have this up and running already. The dehumidifier in the basement runs non-stop. I put a watt meter on it and to my disbelieve, that thing runs close to 700 watts. It doesn't matter if I have solar panels. My bill is...
I want to Thank Breakin Newz, Dimitrge, D5332, Bobby and his friend or family member (sorry Bobby, I forget his name) for helping me bring the 300 in the house. That thing is heavy.
Here is a little bit of an update.
I decided to build the panels on the stand. The front panel is 8 feet...
