Unfortunately I do not have a vent fan. I also don't have an opening to vent it too. I don't want to make a whole in the wall. I was going to keep everything in the basement till I finished with the stand and canopy, but I don't think I can leave it down there that long with all the...
Nice shot. Its looks really good too without the sand. Thats one thing I wasn't sure of. whether I should add sand or not. The elegance is also nice. Does it grow bigger than that?
I wish I could say the same about not doing anything this weekend. My body aches from the move. I forgot how heavy the rocks were in my tank. Are you building the sand yourself?
I use IO. My system is to big to be using that expensive stuff. If I had a smaller system than I would use something like Tropic Marin Pro. The only time I would have to add the other additives is when making up water for the water change. Other than that, my calcium reactor would take care of...
Now for the big mess
Here you can see the 1.5 pvc pipe that I used to recirculate the water from the sump to the tub.
I created splash sheilds for the leds.
My dehumidifier has been on all day and it still can't keep the humidity down. This is going to be a problem...
Finally was able to transfer everything to the 300 stock tank in the basement. Man what a job.
The one thing I was dreading about the transfer is removing the war coral that had grown on the bottom glass of the tank.
In this pic, you can see it growing up the front glass.
Here is what it...
I would definitely go with the 30 deep tank. My 215 is 24" and I wish I had more space. My new tank is 30" deep and I can't wait to set it up. But than again, you would have to think about lighting. I'm really hoping that I can get away with 5 led's on my tank, being that its so wide.
Thanks everyone for all the compliments. Its amazing, what a difference 1x4's makes on the stand. Lets get something straight though, I'm no carpenter. I've made lots of mistakes making this stand. LOL!
I actually went to lowes and home depot to take a look at the formica and didn't really like...
Some updates
I added some 1x4's arround the edges of the stand. I'm thinking that I might cover the stand with sheetrock and paint it to match the walls. Not 100 pecent sure on that yet.
I was going to use multiple holding tanks to hold the water and rocks from my 215, but I found a 300...
