    Huge Reef in Red Bank

When I took my dog there it was because they had an oncology dept. I think her surgery took two 15 minutes visits and then an hour or two surgery and cost us $6k. That place makes money like nobody's business...they can afford the tank, me thinks.

    In the wall 265 Perfecto

I guess I stand corrected. I've never seen an outlet upside down like that, regardless of commercial or residential application...but that may be from lack of looking. Of course, I was pretty much just kidding around the whole thing anyhow...the installation looks great! PS - I was also kidding...

    In the wall 265 Perfecto

Looks good! That last outlet is upside down, though. Oh, and that truck needs a coat of wax, me thinks. ;D

    Huge Reef in Red Bank

When my dog was being treated for cancer, I spent HOURS staring at that tank. Love it. That tank taught me how much swimming space 'Dora' really needs. Those hippos swim circles around the entire tank for the entire day. Can't see how they'd be happy in one of our little boxes.

    29g Reeflog

Yes, it is xenia. Initially I put a small rock with the xenia on it over in the front corner of the glass and it grew off the rock onto the glass, and then the rock, while still covered in xenia was also covered in algae, so I tossed the rock and just let it grow on the glass. I did a MAJOR...

    hair algae

Personally, I like to do things as 'natural' as possible. The only additives I ever use is to keep calcium up and some carbon every now and again. So far, it's worked well...just takes longer. My hair algae battle was probably 5-6 months...but in the end my flow and my life are pretty much the...

    hair algae

Exactly....and I still beat it. There's no giving up due to hair algae, people. It's just not an option. :P

    Well water?

My well water is super hard. Recently I bought a TDS meter and it registered about ~300 before my ro/di. After the ro/di, always 0, and that with a cheap filtersdirect ro/di unit. The only issues with the well water (for me) is: 1. It comes out COLD, which makes the ro/di work slower 2. It...

    hair algae

Until your tank looks like this, there's really no reason to give up: I have a sea hare. He didn't do ANYTHING for my hair algae. He's a great inhabitant, though, and spends most of his day kissing the glass. I have a urchin, who also spends most of his time on the glass. He's not been very...

    29gallon newbie

In my 29g I feed my fish ~2 quarter sized flakes of food every few days. I don't really filter except for the rock and the chaeto in my HOB fuge. If your phosphates are that high and you are using good ro/di water, I'd definitely cut back on the feeding. 29g FTW! ;)

The ZEN 90 Build Inspired by Takashi Amano

I have about 1/3 of my exposed sand covered in GSP. I think it looks great, except where it tries to grow up the front glass. ;)

    Eagle Reef Systems In Hillsborough

Re: Eagle Reef I used to buy my ro/di salt water from that guy until he started getting really sporadic with his shop hours. I'd show up and the sign would say he should be open...but he wouldn't be. It sure was a nice place to walk around...he made some beautiful tanks!

    I'm in deep..... water... HELP!!!!

OK... I found the Anemone it moved... BUT It killed something with a coral-like skeleton in it's path. The water is cloudy. Thanks for the help! Damon is unreachable at the moment. I just wanted to make sure nothing needed to get done urgently.

    I'm in deep..... water... HELP!!!!

Hi All, This is Damon's wife. He's been away on business, and is due to arrive home in 5 hours. Sometime between yesterday and today his anemone died, it's just a skeleton. I have NO knowledge of his hobby, but I do know that a dead creature in the tank could be bad news. What should I do...

    My clowns are finally hosting.

My clowns were pretty happy in their frogspawn when i first got my BTA. I used my hand to chase them towards the bta and after about 15 minutes they dived right in. Maybe not the most humane way, but it worked. ;)
