Who runs Carbon ? And what kind do you use and why ?

We run carbon on occassion, but not all the time. We also use the GB carbon. We still have it. I think it is 72$ for a full 55# bag and 36$ for 1/2 a bag, but I need to double check.

    Cyano

Did this happen before the cyano outbreak? If so then you just identified the source of your cyano outbreak. Your sandbed stirring released nutrients that now need to get out of the water column. A HUGE (50%) water change would be next on MY list to drop that nutrient level back down. But that's...

Starting up again after almost a year and a half.... nice to be back

Welcome back. With 300# of rock to choose from you should be able to pick the best pieces of the bunch. Welcome back and enjoy! We're looking forward to watching the tank progress!

    Cyano

Re: Diatoms? Definitely cyano. If the bulbs are reaching their life expectancy change them first. Dinos have floating "strings" that look like snot. That looks like cyano to me. I've seen it clumpy like that. Need a cuke? I think I have an extra one, if I can find him. I spawned a third and...

November Meeting: Saturday the 14th (South Plainfield)

LOL. I'm pretty sure the Pope's are happy that this meeting is a tad smaller than their last! LOL! I have a couple of large-ish petals of idaho grape cap (10-25 depending on if it comes out whole or not) I need to get rid of. I also have one orange crush acan frag that needs a new home (8$ a...

    GO PHILADELPHIA!

Let's please keep the conversation civil. We don't need to argue about this. It is a sport and people (on both sides of the equation) are VERY passionate about it. That means that you need to accept the excitement of others. If this thread can't stay civil it will be closed. Thanks for your...

    Coral Beauty is not eating

Just throw them in the tank. Something will eat them. Did you try black worms? Did you try some Rod's food?

Fish don't look so hot, help

They need a bit more veggie than that. I'd try some algae wafers or nori hanging in the tank, a bit of food made for herbivores. Maybe some Ocean Nutrition Formula two (even flake is better than not). It does sound like it might be the initial stages of HLLE (head and lateral line disease). If...
