I like the idea here I think I have these parts in my closet to mimic what you did. I have been using a bucket top vacuum to clean my tank, l and throwing out the water, but this is a win since you can recycle the water. I may copy your prototype. Hope I am not violating and patent you have. Lol

No need to add anything. I do have a crab and a sea star in my tank only because I caught the crab locally and the sea star was given to me but you really don’t need to any anything down there

Other than that I just leave my sump alone no matter what.

Stir it up a little and let it feed your corals through your pump

If it’s a slight problem just pick out what you can and let it be. If tank looks happy no need to disrupt it.

90.00 a box seems pricey. Almost like they raise price for Black Friday just to offer you this “huge” deal. Buy 2 get 1 free is a good deal, but I feel they inflate the price a bit. I never paid 90 a box for reef crystal when I was using it.
