Oh, just what I need, one more plug to plug in. This is what my light outlet area looks like right now!
I've already decided that when lights go out tonight I'm pulling the unit off yet again, and am going to remove the optics from the Mars Aqua. The Apollos don't have optics...
Maybe. What's PWM? Is that were something like an Apex or Reef Angel controls the light in small increments....i.e., ramping up and down?
If so, I'm happy with the way I imitate sunrise, morning, midday, afternoon, and twilight.....with my old school ReefKeeper II, and in combination...
Here's what I found out about the fans on the Mars Aqua.....they are tied into the pots that control the lights and if it's not turned up high enough, the fans do not come on. I have to turn the pot up to about 75% for the fans to come on. Not happy about that. Thinking about removing...
So my light fixtures are back up over the tank. With the second Apollo, only one fan wasn't working. I had replaced one of the fans eight months ago, and since I had already purchased enough fans, I decided to replace the two remaining original fans. So now with the two Apollos I have all...
OK! So last night I opened up the Mars Aqua. The guts of this one is slightly different than Apollos.....no Bridge Rectifiers because it appears it gets the juice for the fans directly from the LED power source. I also wasn't crazy about a simply smooth aluminum plate for the heat sink...
The best I can do is to point you to a "How To" article HERE for the ballast.
I'd also comment that if still in doubt, and the bulb is more than 6 months old, replace the bulb. It's my understanding that PC bulbs lose their spectra pretty fast.
I just can't seem to get a break with my LED's.
Back in March I posted about the issues I had with the two Apollo fixtures I had, where I replaced all the blue LEDs, because they were burnt. I documented that HERE. At the same time, one of the six fans wasn't working, so I replaces that as...
Something hit me! Here's another thought. If I'm not mistaken, this is an "in wall" build. That being the case, I would not build a free standing stand, as per the conventional dimensional stand we've all seen.
Here's what I'd do: Build the top frame....and I think I'd build the...
First off, I like the comments about scribing the base and then remove that wood....similar to fitting the sides of cabinets against uneven walls. I typically use planes and belt sanders to do this. But, bottom line, overkill for the base of the stand. No need for a "tight" fit of the...
Hold on one moment. Doesn't the Jebao pump run off of 120 volts AC.....that is then converted to DC within the unit. AND, isn't the IceCap battery backup a 12 volt DC power supply. I think we have a problem of adding apples and oranges, and coming up with squat!
Did you see my thread about the issues I had with my Apollos.....HERE? I'm wondering if you have the same issue with the 026's you have. By the way, they are manufactured in China.
If you go the Ebay route, I'm extremely delighted with THIS fixture I purchased for $78.....it has gone up to...
Mike, the only way that's happening is if you buy me a smart controller for Christmas. I'm still stuck in the 90's with my ReefKeeper II controllers that communicate with nothing! And that's the way I want it. When I'm not home, I want to enjoy myself and not get notices from my...
I guess I've finally arrived. To my objections, and kicking and screaming like a two year old spoiled brat, my wife bought me a cell phone.....my very first. And now insists I take it with me. I'm not a happy camper.
The younger crowd can't understand this, considering they were born...
My neighbor has only one and it lights up the whole front of the house and up the large oak trees she has. It is maybe 20 feet from the house.
I also saw on the news the concern of these lights shooting up into the sky and hitting pilots eyes. So buy them now before they pull them off the...
