The only thing I can say is damsel, damsel, damsel! You have three devil fish in that tank that will attack and eat anything that moves. I'm betting one or more of your damsels took out the shrimp. The only thing missing was the cocktail sauce! :tongue2:

The purpose of a deep sand bed is to have an upper aerobic area and a lower anaerobic. This way you can now have both types of bacteria needed to metabolize detritus. Don't disturb the deep part of the sand bed. You can lightly "vacuum" the very top to remove detritus, but don't mix it up.

Chris, a lot of 55's are tempered glass.....that can't be drilled. It's not all 55's, but you need to determine if it's tempered or not. Do you know how to do that with polarized sunglasses and a white computer screen?

Arvind, I'm a little concerned about how you have that drain set up. It appears the RO waste (and maybe a 1 1/2 inch drain line and maybe 1/2 inch tubing) is simply draining into an open clean-out wye. The issue there is that you will get sewer gas coming back out that opening. In...
