Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Kessils are plenty strong. Really they both work just fine to grow coral, just buy the one you like best and you’ll be fine.
I stick with kessil for their support and hardware quality (it’s definitely not the app that keeps me there). kessil has replaced a light outside of warranty for me. My...
Where are you located? I understand your tentative about the when, but when do you think? My truck is now on the hands of one of my triplets (they’re my youngest and turned 17 last July). I picked up a 4x4 e350 EB a couple weeks ago so I have plenty of room. I’m waiting for my dmv...
It’s all relative. You can use reef roid type foods, but if you use too much too often your nutrients will usually increase quickly. But if that’s what your trying to do here... just dose or feed more slowly and test to see what happens.
I’ve had to increase my nitrate dosing as time has...
Based on my experience, I’d say your nitrates are too low. I’m fighting to have any, I’d love to have too much. It’s an easier battle in my view. I’ve had zoas/palys shrink in my system, as I get the nutrients up they tend to do better.
That said, that’s my reef. You mentioned that...
They look different, dark skin with pale green bushy polyps that are blue more towards the inside. When they get bigger they tend to table and with the bushiness they look like bonsai tree. I’ll try to find a better pic.
The small colonies in middle are bonsai birdsnest. It was a big colony in the display, broke up trying to get it out. They’re not too big, depending on which one (I have more than you see here) they are 3-5” across.
Sounds like a neat idea. I had 40ish different corals fragged up for the club member sale I posted a couple weeks ago. I have others that weren’t available for the sale. I’d be happy to trade one for one for corals I don’t have.
