Tough call, if you ultimately want 40 go with one 40. If you want great random flow go with 2 mp10. I have 3 on my 55 and have crazy flow....the sps really love it! If you are an lps or softie reefer you may not need as much flow. As for wear and tear I have my10s at 100% reef crest mode and...

Yup, this is double side cut, cheaper than single side which you can see on the floor of the bare bottom. Or you can cap off the flat pieces with single side cut, glue to back wall or whatever. It's quite porous with lots of holes to allow for flow and can dry stack very solid.

So was playing with some of my rocks today. I am going with a two sided cut from macro rocks. This allows me to create a step like appearance. While some may argue it does not look natural and I would agree, it gives a large surface to grow sps. If I'm able to grow them like my 55, you will not...

I like the overflow in the center. Cool idea if you plan on viewing from all sides or just three.

How about some good old tangs. Mine patrol my rock work all day and keep it algae free. My yellow is the best.

I have a few in my 55, like shade or areas where light is less. Even have one next to an sps and has never harmed it in any way.
