if your heater is in the sump your DT will be lower than the sump. My suggestion is to put a temp prop in the DT and raise the sump temp to reach the temp you want in your DT. To get ~78 in my 36g DT my heater (300watt located in my HOB fuge) is set to 82

Doc good luck. Hope it goes well for you. Just be mindful that you might have a hard time fighting the HQ when trying to improve the department. Most companies that big and design by their model do not like too much changes to go. They maybe open to suggestions but who knows.

I was one of those folks who got some frags from them during the July meeting and I am not a zoa fan. They are doing well in my tank so far. Colors are really nice on the ones I got.

Here my temp and I am running a mix reef

So in prep to get my ATO working I coded this add-on section. Right now only 'ATO' does its job but I am going to work on the temp, pH (down the road), and salinity. What this does is either run the python script for those sensor or closes depending on enable/disable status.

I have heard people running mag at 1600 they even claim it help keep algae at bay. I use RC salt and for awhile my mag been at 1600 (I use red sea kit as well) but its now slowly coming down. On Saturday it was as 1460.
