I use this for my tank and works great for emergencies, but like saltkreep said, do not run anything expensive on this, just run the bare minimum, the most important thing is gas exchange and temp, run a wavemaker, heater, or an air pump. corals and fish will be fine outwith lights for a few days
I would really advise getting your water tested since it is the only way to really now what's going on.
If I had to guess what is happening is that you 0 our your no3 and po4. Corals need nitrates and po4 to carry out their metabolic functions and grow. If you are 0 on both then they will be...
I believe ACC rented them out but I don't know if they still do. a good alternative is Seneye, will provide you enough to know where you are in the tank.
I have a SCA-302, if you're interested for $80 and a Eshopps S120 for $100.
if you're looking into a brand new skimmer, i recommend Reef Octo, Nyos or Aquamaxx line.
hmmmm... where to begin? I have about 3-4 skimmers, a massive amount of circulations pumps, 3-4 return pumps.. a few heaters,.. 3-4 sumps.... some high end lights... a few spare tanks.
i need help. o_O lol
realistically though, i need to sell some, just havent had the chance and dealing with...
i use phosguard exclusively since it’s less messy compared to gfo, just be careful with shocking your system with decreasing your po4 so fast. you’re better off doing it slowly in the course of a few weeks. also phosguard will alleviate your aluminum in your tank since it is an aluminum based...
it depends, if the seller is a trusted individual and you know the fish/coral is healthy and disease free then, yes, I'd say is definitely worth to pay a bit more than retail. that extra $10, $20, $30 or so bucks is worth it to me knowing i'm getting a healthy fish/coral, saves me the time to...
it looks to easily DIY a different pump on there, i would look for a similarly rated DC/ACskimmer pump. i believe that original pump for that is around 300gph to 350gph so find a rated DC/AC skimmer pump in that range. i'd personally look into Sicce pumps or a DC skimmer pump, will be a bit...
you need drain the tank up to the hole and then find a piece of acrylic or reef safe plastic and use the appropriate solvent and let it cure. you can probably get away with using super glue with an accelerator as well but it the surrounding area needs to be dry.
