in my opinion is better if you use just one pump, you can used a T4 thats what i used and im happy with it, and its externa, btw, you want to used external or submersible? eheim are pretty good pumps to run submersible, or a mag12, external i will go with the t4 that is dead silence, or a iwaki...

Candi you can do what saltwater said, or you can strap it around, and you can used a bin for as long as you can hold without looking at them from the front

merv do you think you can post some pictures of the sump and the plumbing of your tank please, i want to change my sump and plumbing and i need some ideas and the way you did yours is close to what i was thinking to do Thank you Gabe
