Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
might want to limit your water changes to once every 2 weeks and test your params. in my system, my sps usually goes pale in color when my NO3 and PO4 are undetectable.
i believe thats the sweet spot. a hybrid of either leds/t5, leds/halides or if you can, incorporate all three.
would love to know if you notice any noticeable changes to your corals after a few weeks Darren.
wanted to bump this up, as i am noticing more and more people going back to T5 and Halides.
I was actually at a fellow reefers home yesterday and he utilized 2 Kessil A350s, 8 Bulb ATI T5 Fixture and a 400w Metal Halide over a 380 gallon, i believe it was but could be bigger.
He told me that...
as far as lighting goes, I would go with 2 Kessils 350s and supplement with 2 T5 bulbs to help with the shadows on the SPS frags.
the 350s right now are a great value for a frag tank.
grab a philips ballast off amazon for $50
should be good to go!
but.. I will pay for shipping...
lol.
but, seriously that frag tank is beautiful, saw it personally at the NJ frag swap. great buy, steal for the price you got it for.
BTW, if you want to save some money. PremiumAquatics have HexArc bulbs for sale at 6.99 a bulb. I've used them before and they arent bad at all, a steal at 6.99 honestly. I ordered a couple as backups.
