Ruth,
Sorry for delay. Unexpected RL stuff.
I was going to contact a few of the sponser contacts I made from the summer, but am a bit hesitant as we only have a few on board so far and I don't want to take advantage of them.
I was seriously expecting at least a dozen and hoping for a score or...
ANDY! AJ! ERIC! JOSH!
Welcome aboard!
I'm located in Brick, lemme know if you need anything.
Just FYI...
I'm particularly good at juggling tangerines and playing the ukelele, though, I learned in an unfortunate accident, not at the same time, as that's when I lost my left eye and a testicle...
Also, ouside of using PVC glue. Consider using a pice of plastic/poly tubing with the inside diameter the same size as your PVC.
Heat it to expand it and slide over the PVC at least 1". It will self seal. You can use circular screw clamps (forget the proper name atm) for added security.
Saves a...
May have a 300w heater I can dig through the garage for.
PM me an address and if I find it I'll drop it in your mailbox tomorrow during the day .
Of course I'll tape a message to the outside of the mailbox for the mail-person reading 'Please don't disturb the bomb'.
The decor customization is nice as well.
I'm currently thinking 4 differing themes...
Steampunk with dark steel metallics, lots of copper and brass fittings, an inscription by HG Wells (or such).
Country with weathered wood effects and a Lemonade sign, with 'NOT' chalked over it'
Seaside with...
Yeah, I ran a water test on this one for 2 days. Initially it had a slow leak but some hand tighting corrected it.
Saying that, I did order 2 extra spigots from Amazon (food grade, 5 star rated, $6) just in case.
I plan on doing complete water changes every few weeks, so if a spigot leaks it'll...
The spigot hole is just the right size for a snail to get way into, and get stuck. Don't want to have to disassemble the whole spigot every water change.
And...
I bought a number of really cool items for stands and lighting at HOmegoods, but nothing lived up to expectations, so I'm building my...
Thought this would take off myself and we'd have at least 15-20. I announced it on R2R as well but there seems to be no takers.
Lets give it a week or two.
I can't contact sponsors for prizes for 5 competitors.
If it doesn't work out, we can shut down the challenges forum and maybe shift posts...
Looked into them a while back. Evaporation, cleaning (now you can have algae inside AND outside), and keeping level were all concerns. Apparently they look great but are a maintenance nightmare.
Im in trouble. Forgot we were supposed to meet folks for lunch. Ive pushed it back to 2. I can head over earlier to lend a hand if thats ok (as in, i can leave now)
I have a RO Buddy system.
In this small system (50gpd) I can easily monitor resin color (an determine time for change) and have the carbon tubes marked, by sharpie, with installation dates.
I change out resin as needed, the carbon and RO cartridge every 6 months (about $30), and the membrane...
Mark at Ultimate Corals in Jackson has a bogo sale on at the moment. Great guy to look to for advice and the sale is something i'd take advantage of if I didnt have 18,000 zoas in my tank atm.
Nice job. Think i'm going to be hitting Mark up next week for a few shrooms and palys myself.
Love the idea of an overflow for the top up, my son has a beta tank with same principle and works well. Alo like the duality as in emergency or for complete WC you have the low tap for a full empty...
