Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
The one I posted is really a screw in version power compact. Another thing I like about that one is you can pop the lens off real easy for cleaning. I don't see why it would have any adverse effect on the LR. It's basically 500W 6500K output.
If anything you'll want to upsize the suction side of the pump, not restrict it. I suggest you cap/plug the current bulkhead and drill a new hole for a larger one. I can swing buy on the way home from work and take a look at it with you. I have most of the hole saw sizes and may even have a...
I've seen the material on Premium Aquatics web site. I have mesh modded several Sedra impellers. What type of pump do you have? If you can, try to post a picture of the impeller you have.
I'm going to reiterate what Bill posted.
Newer Salifert dKh test kits are bad. I had a test kit from a different batch. The older one was reading 9dKh, the newer one was reading 14+ dKh. There is a lot # list somewhere on RC. Basically I wouldn't trust any Salifert dKh test kits.
I had a hard time finding pictures but it appears to me the glass piece with the bulkheads would be for the overflow piping. Something like that would be real handy if you were using flexible drain lines from the display. If anything the glass piece will cut down on the salt spray/creep from the...
I've actually went in and gave the sweepers a hair cut. They were over 4" long and bothering my clam. Trimming the sweepers had no apparent effect on the coral.
I had Workhourse ballast, 4 to be exact, and based on my experience, they don't hold a candle to the IceCap 660. They (workhorse)burned out one at a time and caused quiet a bit of interference with my meter probes. Installed the 660's and haven't looked back. Again this is my experience, yours...
Dana Riddle had a presentation on this very topic at MACNA 07. I would need to sit through it a couple more times before I'd be comfortable quoting the information. Oh wait! He's already committed to speak at our 08 Fall Frag Swap. That alone would be reason to attend!
Never heard of T6's. In addition to what has been mentioned above:
The number stands for the diameter in 1/8 increments. So T5 is 5/8" dia. and T12 is 12/8 or 1.5" dia.
Another advantage of the T5 is you can fit more in a given space.
you used the properties of the thumb nail as your link. You need to use the actual picture's properties.

sponge possibly, maybe tunicats but not likely.
Alot of things come and go in a new tank. I have/had similar organisms with no adverse effects. Keep a close eye on it. It may end up simply disappearing.
