What light do you use in refugium?

The one I posted is really a screw in version power compact. Another thing I like about that one is you can pop the lens off real easy for cleaning. I don't see why it would have any adverse effect on the LR. It's basically 500W 6500K output.

    pipe to skimmer pump

If anything you'll want to upsize the suction side of the pump, not restrict it. I suggest you cap/plug the current bulkhead and drill a new hole for a larger one. I can swing buy on the way home from work and take a look at it with you. I have most of the hole saw sizes and may even have a...

I've used this one for a couple years now. Fixture and replacement bulbs are available at homedepot, reasonably priced, grows cheto and coralline.

    remeshing an impeller?

I've seen the material on Premium Aquatics web site. I have mesh modded several Sedra impellers. What type of pump do you have? If you can, try to post a picture of the impeller you have.

    Since adding the Ka Reactor

I'm going to reiterate what Bill posted. Newer Salifert dKh test kits are bad. I had a test kit from a different batch. The older one was reading 9dKh, the newer one was reading 14+ dKh. There is a lot # list somewhere on RC. Basically I wouldn't trust any Salifert dKh test kits.

    how to plumb sump

I had a hard time finding pictures but it appears to me the glass piece with the bulkheads would be for the overflow piping. Something like that would be real handy if you were using flexible drain lines from the display. If anything the glass piece will cut down on the salt spray/creep from the...

Ok ... Fess up! Who's running Zeovit?

Yea, that way it would be easy to gauge what it would cost to run on others systems.

    My 75g Already in Progress!

I've actually went in and gave the sweepers a hair cut. They were over 4" long and bothering my clam. Trimming the sweepers had no apparent effect on the coral.

Have you ever figured out your monthly cost per gallon?

    Ice cap ballasts

I had Workhourse ballast, 4 to be exact, and based on my experience, they don't hold a candle to the IceCap 660. They (workhorse)burned out one at a time and caused quiet a bit of interference with my meter probes. Installed the 660's and haven't looked back. Again this is my experience, yours...

Coloring up SPS (was: Too Much Light??)

Dana Riddle had a presentation on this very topic at MACNA 07. I would need to sit through it a couple more times before I'd be comfortable quoting the information. Oh wait! He's already committed to speak at our 08 Fall Frag Swap. That alone would be reason to attend!

    What's Your'e Fancy

Never heard of T6's. In addition to what has been mentioned above: The number stands for the diameter in 1/8 increments. So T5 is 5/8" dia. and T12 is 12/8 or 1.5" dia. Another advantage of the T5 is you can fit more in a given space.

Do I want this on my Rock?

sponge possibly, maybe tunicats but not likely. Alot of things come and go in a new tank. I have/had similar organisms with no adverse effects. Keep a close eye on it. It may end up simply disappearing.
