Donate to school tank: East Side H.S. Newark, NJ 07105

It's really great what your doing for the kids and their eco awareness. We look forward helping you out where ever we can. I'm not sure if I miss read but there's one thing I noticed in your post. Replacing evap water with salt water (toping off) will raise the salt content of the tank water...

    Need NJ opinions please.

Some of the reading I have done suggests the fuge should only take water after the skimmer / filter socks / reactors, etc. Supplying nutrient rich water to the fuge causes the fuge to become a "nutrient sink" (whatever that means). HTH

Back in the Water, Powder's tank tale

The room divider is tricky. I have the same issue as Dave. Except my tank is only 18" wide!!!!! Bad newbie mistake on my part. I can barely get trumpet corals on the side of my reef. My upgrade will be at least 36" if not 40" (do I hear 48") wide. Good Luck with the new tank and welcome to the...

    possible tank upgrade

Since you will only have two supporting the tank, I'm assuming the joists will be parallel with the long side of the tank. What is the length of "free span" of...
