The material the tank is made from is a consideration also. I know most acrylic tank owners have issues with the sand and scratches.

Not trying to discourage you but that is a recipe for disaster IMO. The only way a spray bar on the bottom is going to work is if the feed goes up and over the top of the tank with a little hole just below the surface of the water (until the hole clogs) and, like Phil mentioned, a pressure...

I have multitudes as well. I'm in Cape May. Not sure why you'd want them. The are basically considered a pest by most and can quickly get out of control. They also seem to like zoo's a little too much. Like Subliminal said, in due time they will show up on their own.
