I believe the original question was where to get the best deals on salt, not necessarily what's the best salt which is personal preference. It looks very much like the Bryopsis I had. Some are reporting success with raising their Mg levels like you mentioned. Otherwise, it's a real pain and will surely test your dedication to the hobby.

So that area is in the wet part of the pump. Have you tried to grab the shaft with pliers to see if you can break it free? Can you get to the back side of that area to get some type of penetrating product on the shaft? I'll reach out to my father and see if he know of any food grade WD-40 type...

If thats not a wetted part/area, you can use WD-40 or CRC Marine and soak it for a bit.

I've also read the stirrer could possibly wear through the bottom and cause a big mess. But I took that with a grain of salt.

From my experiance, the clear flatworm are not a problem. I had a bunch and they just went away after a while. Wrasses snack on them. They don't appear to have the batman tales like my though. Maybe they are some other larvae of some sort. Stomanella snails possibility.
