Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Always mark you sump level with tape, paint etc. I neglected to do this and my skimmer would not stop overflowing. Short story, sump water level was to high and once reduced the skimmer worked normal again.
Figured while its fresh in my mind as I have done this twice.
Be sure to flush all filters thoroughly.
Test water in a glass container if using a handheld TDS meter. Plastic seems to through off the readings.
I received this today. I want to start making water for a change this weekend. It comes with a faucet adapter but it's to big for my faucet but fits the one outside for my garden hose. What do I need to fit this on my kitchen sink? Pics of part to follow; have to load from phone.
Looking to get new kits and wondering what kits everyone uses. Not brand such as API, Salifert, etc.
I am thinking:
PH
Alk
Calcium
Ammonia
Anything else critical to test?
Woke up this morning and see my Blue Linkia munching away at one of my Bangaii Cardinals. Had the pair for almost 2 years. Third fish I lost in 2 months.
Tested the water and all params are in normal range except for Alk still about 14 and Nitrate is between 10 and 11 which is not high for...
I had to just vent/rant what have you. When I started this hobby I had a 55g with all HOB equipment and it was bad and then found this club. Shortly after I upgraded to 75g RR. The sump was small so no room for a fuge so I kept using the HOB fuge and the tank did well. I then obtained a bigger...
Considering my Dino issues. I am taking steps to rectify and am now considering an RO/DI unit.
I have a 72g DT and 2og sump. Sump is 1/2 full so let's say 10g; total water volume 82g rounded to 80g.
My question is how long would it take to switch over to RO/DI only using my ATO?
The reservoir...
Been sick for a few days and slowly noticed some bubble algae growing and today it looks bad. Some rock I can take out and clean others not. Also overflow is is bad. Any suggestions on how to remove it other than manual.
My son has an older Toshiba laptop, probably 5 or 6 years old easily. When the computer turns on it displays Toshiba and then displays Preparing Automatic Repair. Shortly after the screen goes blank. I have left it plugged in overnight and nothing. I can't seem to get into setup mode as I assume...
Some tank maintenance today. I went to clean the Gyre and noticed putting it back that it was spinning in reverse. A few months ago I swapped out the extra impeller while others were being cleaned. Reading instructions seems I put the replacement in wrong but cannot figure out what I did wrong...
I have an Eshopps RS-1 sump, so not much room. The middle chamber houses my skimmer so no space there.
However, there is a section where you place black sponges, bubble trap I assume, just before return chamber.
Can I remove the sponge and use the plastic screen as an algae scrubber? Would get a...
Need a little help as its been quite some time since I tried this.
Picked up a desktop and the monitor is small and a bit flaky, meaning power would go on and off at slightest touch.
I picked up a desk cheap and set everything up but now the monitor will not power on. So decided to hook up one...
Okay, I noticed my corals don't look swift even my huge green nepthea appears droopy. Some millies are bleaching and zoa has this brownish algae. I used a turkey baster and blew that stuff off the zoa.
Two weeks ago added a different zoa frag, branching favia and alien eye chalice which all...
Looks like I will have to fra g my green nepthe a as It's quite large.
Problem is one stalk has attached to a large rock, see right side of pic.
I cannot get the main rock and this rock out to frag. If I gently pull will it come off? If not what options do I have?
Thanks
