Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Re: Here's my 120
Great video Bax!
Boy, the Heni owns that tank. I would love to get one but I haven't a clue how to tell the safe ones from the not-safe.
He's keeping up with the zen theme. Visualize the tank and it will be!
Ya gotta love post padders!
Actually I think the 75 is posted back a few pages so I'll take the complement for that one. ;D
Nothing wrong with softies only.
I think it should be a rule that everyone start there and after a year they can move up to harder stuff. ;)
Most folks get the bug to upgrade quickly, so most reefers will advise you to by the best lights you possibly can. But if waiting to buy more expensive...
No pictures, but a short update from the Buddhist monastery. If you read some of the other tank building threads you'll get the Buddhist joke. Of course in the spirit of true Buddhism it would be totally free of humor (or anything else) and about nothing. But I digress.
There is a hole in my...
Glad I wandered back over. I didn't want to paint my tank, but I need a background untill the coralline grows. I didn't know foamcore came in black. I was tinking of getting some and painting it. Problem solved!
Glad things are moveing along.
I don't know what MikeNapoli has against buddhist...
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
Thanks for the update James.
It renews my motivation!
I'm doing a little tank work tonight before the paintbrushes come out. ;D
I prefer mostly snails. Blue legs spend as much time hunting snails for shells as they do on cleaning. I like scarlet reef hermits better, but not to many.
I really like cerith snails, nassarius and some turbos.
Good luck with him Ryan.
Be careful not to overfeed the tank tyring to watch him eat.
After he's settled you can usually get them to take chunks of meaty foods placed near their homes.
I know you said the ammonia is down, but watch the nitrites too.
BTW Erna, your ballast was repaired at the Ice Cap open house. I don't want to try it on the fixture in case that's what blew it in the first place. I tested it on my lights and it works fine.
When I start wiring my canopy I'll look at the wiring on your fixture. In the meantime, if you need an...
Tell me about it! ::)
I spend almost every spare minute painting. Hopefully we'll finish this weekend. Don't know how you do this for a living Stan. ;D
The good news is I have all my plumbing and lighting parts. Also have rock and sand. I need some salt but the AO sale a week from Friday will...
So how often do you clean the canister? What kind of media you have?
I'm with Mike, I would run carbon in it.
The reason why canisters are called nitrate factories in a derogatory manner is they process detritus that can otherwise be removed by a skimmer. Do you have a skimmer, I didn't see...
I agree! I'm either getting a Kole or Tomini for the 180.
Tank's looking great Jim.
If you want to get an idea about your cerith population, check the glass about 2 hours after lights out.
And that would be a reason to get an AC3. If you can find a water sensor with digital output, you can get the IO Breakout Box accessory for an AC3 to accept the input. With the built in webserver and Aquanotes software, I believe you can e-mail alerts.
You have an open invitation James, I run...
