so i broke down the 150G stock tank and decided to set up a fraG tank down in the basement all i need is a small skimmer and ill be all set

I just moved from a 65G to 120 I had all my fish and coral in a 150 gallon stock tank for 2 weeks till the move was done so I don't see a problem with it...

The spray bar affect doesn't restrict flow from the overflow it spreads it out across a length of the pipe instead of being forced out a one inch hole it's across a twelve inch section of pipe

Once the stand is level from being shimmed adding water shouldn't affect it it should stay level unless the stand is warped..

Like I said I never used the mud but I was told if not done right or the mud gets stirred up some how your display would look like chocolate milk...and crushed coral was just as good but wouldn't have that affect.. Which is why I stayed away from the mud..

Sounds like a phosphate problem from using tap water.. Your best bet is to get a reactor and start running media to reduce it and water changes will help to..

GFO= granular ferric oxide.. It reduces phosphates in the water did you set up tank with Rodi water or tap water?

How long has the tank been set up? Are you running GFO/Carbon/phosban?
