If he was to kill off the Bacteria with the treatment, it should re-seed from the existing rock. I would do some extensive researching on the pool algaecides before implementing. Also, chances are all pool algaecide are not created equal. Please post your findings.

I've taken the reactor off line to see if there will be any changes in the nitrates. I'll post the results should anything change. Two days ago I was at 2.5 - 1.5. We'll see what happens.

I got the Carib Sea stuff from Premium Aquatics. I don't see it being offered their anymore. They do have the stuff from Midwest though that would do the job.

I don't have any calibration fluid but I usually just check the ro/di. I'm sure someone will explain why that's wrong but if that is zero I feel comfortable it's pretty close.
