I installed the same ASV on Merv's unit. Let me try to dig up the info I used and we'll go from there.

Brian - part of the problem is that most of the time you buy an ASV kit. Float valve, check valve, solenoid valve, misc fittings and so on are all included in one package so it's tougher to mess up. Nick - 6 of 1 or half a dozen of the other. Your choice.

the check valve came as part of my Kent ASV kit. It's definitely part of the system. Maybe they just forgot to included it with your order. It's hard to believe it would be extra.

I strongly recommend the ASM G3. Just my opinion but you can't beat the price for performance.
