The latest is that the seller backed out. He pulled the typical line on me about how his wife was mad because he was selling the setup for so cheap.
Some people are just so full of s**t. Well, I will start looking again.
LOL. Phil I like the vortech as well. However a price of $795 a piece is an over kill for a PH IMO. The hydors are quite but I think vortech make the same amount of noise.
Your parameters are not optimal. 7.4 pH is low. The nitrites must be 0. Did you cycle the tank? What kind of skimmer and filtration do you have?
Do you have any fish in there?
hen you say ALK is normal, what is the reading for ALK?
Thanks Nikki. The tank is 80% cleared up now. I got the rocks out (ones I could) and washed them off in the tank water.
The corals look fine so far. The polyp extension is normal. The clam is closed now since lights are out.
Will check tomorrow....

Hang in there dude. This is not easy I agree. I was in the same situation last year around the same time. The HA was ugly and taking over my tank. I had horrible time tackling ich. I lost my prized purple tang and a lot other fish. I also gave up almost. Then one day, I looked at the tank...
This is bad :(. The skimmer is going nuts. It must be the gunk that flared up from the sand. The nitrates are OK though.
My 8 inch Clam is half open. I just gave him a bath in the tank water, kinda rinsed him.
I notice a film of sand on the back wall as well. That would be tough to clean-up...
Thanks guys.
Just got back from work. The tank looks to have cleared up a little. There is a film sand on the front glass. I will start to clearup the corals next :(
Well I have 4 Koralia 8's running my DT. One of them snapped off at the magnet piece and went bottoms up.
The tank is as cloudy as it can be. Sand over all the rocks some corals. Yikes!
I am just concerned that the corals might burn. Starting the dusting process now but I need to get to work...
Hello fellow reefers
Over the past few months my desire to setup a FOWLR tank has been fueled by our awesome sponsors (Trop/R2R/AO). I have decided (new year resolution maybe?) to bring it to reality. Not to mention that the void that was created in my family room after I sold my 150G setup is...
