It is still hard to see, but since you said it was brown it is not hair algae. I would guess it to be dino.
If it is dino you can dose hydrogen peroxide - 1ml per 10g and that should take care of it. 3 doses should make a difference..

Believe it or not the exact same thing happened to me tonight :-O . I was wondering what is up with the frosting on the floor :)
They do use a cheap bucket :(. My guess is the cold weather opened up the cracks ... given that my basement is very cold in winters.

Did you setup a new client somewhere recently to get email (on phone, ipad etc) ?
There is a setting that says something like "leave the emails on server". It looks like once the emails are pulled to the remote device they are being removed from the outlook client as well.
