So I decided to invest in a multimeter to regularly check for stray voltage in the tank.
I am setting the dial to 200 and then checking by inserting the black wire in the grounded outlet and the red one in the water.
The reading I am getting is 3.6.
Is this the correct way to test? At...
I had Miracle mud in my fuge. The real issue with that is the silt, that can end up in your DT. I had 2 - 3 sponge filters to filter the water or catch the silt before it reached the return pump.
As far as benefits go, I am not sure it is worth it. In mu current setup, I have only sand.

I have a 90G circulation tank plumed to my system. It runs on a different pump but is part of the system. I just shutoff the valve, drain the tank, fill new water and turn the valve on.
Darren has the same setup. I am sure he will chime in.
Get some tangs and/or anthias. Most tangs are active swimmers. The Lyretial and Bartlets are good anthias choice.
You can also do a school of green chromis. I know they are cheap but in my opinion they are a very underrated fish. A school of them swimming around looks amazing.
I always have reef on mind, but seriously, I was drawing a blank at the time I read the news and typed the post :(.
Mods, can someone please fix the subject?
I am not saying it is horrible. I am saying it might not be enough. Every tank is different. It can work for someone who has a established tank and may not work for others.
Just my $0.02.

Ok so Austin had it going, fine. But you have to realize, every tank is different. I am sure someone else will chime in, but for a 220G tank, a 20G change every 2 weeks sounds inadequate.
What are your water parameters? How are you testing them? Ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, pH, alk, calcium?

First and foremost, yes this hobby can be very frustrating. Been there done that. However, it is like golf, that one drive out of 20 keeps you coming back.
Golfers, help me here!
I honestly believe that with a 220G tank, plus whatever water volume is in sump and the skimmer, not sure...
There are a few thread doing the rounds on AI lately.
I think you would be fine with two. You will have to raise them to 18 inches to get a 20 X 20 coverage per light.
If you are not happy you can always add one later. However, I believe 2 would be sufficient with some innovative coral...
