no its not the same as display tank it can be as bad as bioballs rocks in your display should be cleaned also. run a powerhead into them or vacuum them. better off with no rocks in display or just a couple that you can clean easily.

look at Brian's post in tale of the tank. you sure you want to put calupra in your tank? I put some grape type in my refugium when I first started and I can't get rid of it. takes over everything.
I have the same problem. moved a powerhead closer to the bottom and most of it is gone already. starting neozeo system.only been 2 days of just the liquids for now I'll be starting the rocks soon
thanks that helps a bit. I want to try it out and see if it tweaks the tank a little more with slight algae pretty happy with the tank now after a year and a half running everything is stable. yes reg.water changes is a must.
I know this is advanced forum but a little help? neolith in reactor. micro bacter 7? reef biofuel? potassion?coral amino? and there is a whole lot more that I don't want to just dump into my tank.
