IMHO that is not a false perc. False percs have black on black eyes. See the area around the pupil? It is orange. That is some type of true perc. Ocellaris (false perc) don't have that heavy black markings either. This fish also has very irregular second (white) band pattern.

Is that a pressure rated pump? I would think you could run your equipment off that.

What is not to trust? Before I changed to an Iwaki pump on my 150 I used to run a Mag 18 for my return externally. I have been running a mag 5 for my downdraft skimmer externally for a couple years now. Personally I have never had a problem with running them externally.
