Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Once a week would be best, though the month to month comparison would probably be the best indicator. I'd be inclined to want to take the photos at night with the same white balance settings for consistancy. The reason for night would be to eliminate the variable lighting conditions caused by...
Looks like magic to me. I'm always wary of magic when it comes to reefing, but just being a vita, I can't imagine it hurting any. Give it a whirl, Erna.
You should take weekly photos of your tank as close as you can get (like 2' wide sections) and post them. It would make an interesting...
Yeah, that's usually a case of not manually setting the white balance on the camera to overcome the 20K lights the corals are growing under! The colors are definitely not what you'll see in 90% of our tanks.
I always find some "must have" when I go in there. And they give NJRC a 10% discount to card toting club members. That alone pays for membership a few times a year!
Wow. It's about time they started making tanks with those dimensions. Love it! Par for the course though, the hood is too shallow. Could use another 4" of height there.
Oh no... that's terrible. I hope things are well under control by now. We've got a crazy weekend ahead of us, so I know we won't make it there, but we'll be thinking about him and hoping that those in the area that CAN get there DO!
According to Jake Adams, flow is a huge component to growth. The way he explained it, the corals are always breathing, and they need flow to bring them nutrients and carry away the waste or they can't breathe. There comes a point where you don't have enough flow to support the respiration caused...
Jake Adams showed a coral like that at his presentation on Sunday at MR. You could check CoralIdea.com and see if anything turns up. I'd guess species of acropora, based on what I remember of his talk. Though it looks rather monti-esque.
The good news is that after you've paged through the contestants, you can vote as many times as you want (just keep pressing the vote button). I voted on all of my email addresses! Good luck! I really hope she wins.
That would be interesting. For example running the output of the Kold Sterile through a PO4 reactor might get rid of the unwanted PO4 from the water while leaving the Ca & Alk.
Central Jersey = Toms River to Woodbridge. Where are you in that zone? That will definitely affect the answer you get.
And please don't talk in all caps.
