Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
One eel will be plenty (ours is about 2" thick by about 18" long). The really yellow ones like ours aren't actually dwarfs. The dwarfs have that blue stripe down their eye, if you're set on a dwarf, keep an eye out for the stripe.
We have ours with a lionfish.
I think someone ate the clown...
No no... no more of that. We'll go with a new RUT!
Say something nice about the person above you...
I'll start...
Bill is a great guy and does a beautiful Baptism service. It is fun getting to see his Deacon side in addition to the good friend side.
Ya know... it looks great in theory. Unfortunately in reality we have 2 siphon breaks on our 65 and have flooded the sump on shutoff due to them getting clogged. This HAS to be part of your daily maintenance. I could never be so dilligent and that setup scares the bejiggers out of me. I truly...
Thanks all!
Matt, we definitely appreciate the offer and as soon as we can figure out how our neighbors can help and contribute, we'll be reaching out to you! We're at a stage in the process where we are not permitted to solicit vendors, so once the tabboo is lifted in September we'll be...
No floor bracing. Billy did floor bracing (but that is a BEAST). We took a 120 off that spot, so it didn't seem so dramatic to go to a 180 there instead. We are perpendicular to the joists and there is a major support beam going parallel there as well. The age of the house may play into whether...
Our tank is over carpet, and we have no problems with that. Taz had his tank carpeted around and now selling the house is forced to do something about the flooring prior to moving. I'd go ahead and floor under it, unless you could figure out a way that with the tank out of the room, it would...
The best thing to do is to test it and when you see your post-media PO4 higher or the same as your pre-media PO4 reading change it. If you do this for a few cycles you should get a good feeling for the frequency of your particular system needs. It will be different for you than anyone else...
I don't think 8.4 is the end of the world, and I doubt that alone would cause coral bleaching (what kind of corals are bleaching?). Starting up a Ca reactor, which causes he addition of CO2 would increase the CO2 which would naturally lower the tank's PH. He may be doing too much dosing of...
If you reduce the nutrients in your tank they won't multiply as fast. That should keep them in check. You could always put rubble barrier in place so that they are easier to remove. I find removing mushrooms once they've grown into the system a little tough to deal with as most effort would...
