20K is definitely the way to go. At that high of a color temp you will not have as much growth as you would with say a 12K, but your colors will be awesome. I went in the middle with 14K Phoenix bulbs...gives me good growth and good color. But for that deep blue/purple look you definitely want...

The candy cane is looking 100 times better. I moved it to a spot with less flow and now the heads seem to be getting fat again. Maybe it was nothing more than too much flow. I'm gone from my tank until June 13,that makes me nervous, but we shall see what it looks like when I get back.
