Doug fir is easier to work with. Kiln dried splits too easy.

Right on the pop and par, but, the T-5's are mostly 24K. What brand MH bulb is out there with more than a 20K? How many T-5's are you talking about with 350K? I replaced 2 250watt MH's = 500 watts, with 4 T-5's@ 39watts each= 156watts. 500watts take away 156watts saves me 344watts and less...

By POP, we mean that the colors of the corals are brighter and more colorful. T-5's also use less wattage and the bulbs last longer. The bulbs are a little more expensive. I've tried every lighting out there and almost every bulb. I like the T-5's on my softie tank and wouldn't go with anything...

I have 1 hole in all mine, the size of a tooth pick. When I had larger holes, the water would shoot all over the tank and I had less pressure coming out of the return. The bigger hole was also noisy.

That's the solution. Drill a hole in the return line and check it monthly.

My theory. Cut the piece a 1/4 inch bigger and see if it fits. You can always cut another blade with off.

I always ask my new guys to get me them tools out of the tool boxes. You should see the things they bring back. We sit for an hour laughing at them. That tells us what kind of experience they have.
