So I have what's probably a stupid question, but do you not need "legs" under the supports mid-way on the tank? I'd probably want them there (even if they weren't needed) just for peace of mind!

Looks like a great place. I can't wait to have some time to kill. Does it get overcrowded on the weekends? Seems like the place that much fun (and free) would be a mob scene!

Actually... it does. Ed recently scorched his tank when his UV shield broke and he ran the lights without the shield. I think DE might actually be better, but SE more widely available. You could do a search for Sanjay (which would take you to his lighting comparisons) and see which produces...

Lots of folks have asked in the RSVP comments what they should bring, so I thought I'd post it here... What to bring: Finger Food, Salads, Desserts and such would be great. No pork/shellfish products, please. Finger foods: dips, wings, pretzels, chips, cheese & crackers, chili, ziti ...

The test kits we use are Salifert. I think if you polled folks for brand this would be the most common. LaMotte and Tunze test kits are supposed to be better brands, but I've never used either. Buy them from the cheapest source you can find them from! You can get them from TFJPetCenter...

If I could just get that to grow outside, I'd have the nicest lawn in town!

We don't even have a pump in our sump hole and we run our 6g a day into it. Haven't had a problem yet... knock on wood :)

Everything I've ever read says to replace PC bulbs every 6m. I've read some people say that the color spectrum shifts after 3. That's the first thing I'd do if nothing in your regimen has changed.

IMO that's too long of a light period. Most of us run our tanks for about 12 hours of full light, creating a dusk to dawn effect by putting on the actinics first, then an hour or two later the whites. An hour or two before final lights out the second set of lights to go on go back off again...

Vortechs would be a good choice then. Pump in the tank, power cords outside!

We used a cartridge style filter for our pond. You can put filter floss in there for now if you want, but you'll probably have to change it weekly. My mom's filter is a sand filter that she backwashes.

Oops. I was thinking 10wpg & typed 20... My thoughts are still the same 10wpg over a 2g tank is MORE than enough for frogspawn. How long are you running your lights for total? You may consider dropping your photo period back to 4-5 hours a day and increasing that slowly. You can easily...
