Ken is an awesome guy, I think he's a bit of a best kept secret among some of us here (I learned of him originally while living in MI)
The corals are top notch, he ALWAYS throws in extras... for example I order one or two rics and get 3 or 4... extra snails & hermits etc. You can't beat his...
I plan to keep what I have, no upgraded lighting coming my way LOL Do you think I would be ok with the hydro 3 on the left and just the return for flow on the right?
Thank you for the info, absolutely agree with you that it's a bad idea... they are gorgeous creatures and deserve a tank setup for their needs... poor "hmm" idea ;)
Think I'll stick with the gobies, maybe put the loner chromis in with them since he would give me a bit of movement that I'll miss...
Here are some photos so you can see what my rockwork looks like, and where I currently have my powerheads (out of site, which is how I'd like them to stay LOL)
The tank is an Oceanic 70g RR with the megaflow overflow kit. Rock is mostly from marcorocks.com (so very airy), softies & a couple...
Sorry guess dwarf seahorse was a bad choice of terms, I just meant one of the smaller types of seahorses (again sorry I no very little about them, this was just one of those "hmm.." type ideas... I was thinking about the nano tank on mervsreef.com I think it was and I remember him having a...
I have done 0 research yet so please don't flame... just an idea I'm throwing out there :D
Could a dwarf seahorse move into this tank with the gobies (assuming I could work out the feeding) or would that be a poor choice due to the corals I have (frogspawn, hammer, etc)?
Much better, almost cute even LOL
I think I'll stick with my cleaner shrimp though, my emerald crabs even creep me out a bit (although I do have soft spot for the small evil red eye white racing stripe hitch hiker crab I found in my nano) and you'd never get me near a sally lightfoot, it's a...
Thanks for all the ideas.
Clown is just a standard false perc. he was out of the tank for 2 weeks (during which time my firefish was out front and center the whole time) I reintroduced him to the tank yesterday and the first thing he did was chase the firefish into hiding.... he seems to be...
Couldn't resist posting that photo could you ::shudders:: LOL
Glad my variety are itsy bitsy in comparison! A blue crawfish is actually what got me into the hobby, to long of a story but I'm still thankful to the little guy for introducing me to my unknown passion of reef/fish keeping!
Welcome! Watch those yellows, unless you want a whole tank of them... they spread fast and overtake anything they come in contact with... I've had to tear down my rocks several times before I pulled them all... same with the GSP if that's what I'm seeing on the lower left, I like it so I keep it...
Hi guys!
Sorry for the delay in responding, haven't been around much (got a fence installed, been working on some things in the house, busy with my daughter etc)
I'll go into more detail later when I have a chance, and will get some more photos which show the corals better. I'm actually not...
One of the "experts" on RC ID'd it as: serolid isopod, sometimes called a sand skater. Said its a harmless scavenger... I'm guessing it came in on the macro, which I didn't even think to QT... glad its something harmless!
I have some sort of tiny critter infestation... these are the best photos I could get given these things are small (see photo with my finger for size comparison).
They are on my LR and near my corals, seem to move fairly slow in the tank but are able to move fast when someone is trying to grab...
Thanks for the recommendation. I don't know how live my sand bed is but there are mysid shrimp & pods running all over all the time (I have what I refer to best as an infestation of shrimp in my tanks LOL) would he eat those? Think there would be any issues with my purple firefish? He likes to...
I need fish recommendations guys.
I pulled my clown out of my 24g aquapod as he was harassing my purple firefish into constant hiding (which is a shame, he hosted my neon green toadstool and I really loved how the tank looked with him in it), he's currently in fishy time out (ie 5g tank) for 2...
Only have a second before running out the door but wanted to post, great looking tank!!! LOVE all the frags, where are you getting most of them from? Really nice looking colors... I could use some small/colorful frags myself.
I didn't notice as I skimmed the posts, any fish added or going to...
Poor quality pic, note to self get out the tripod and don't try to photograph in a bright sunny room LOL
Gives you an idea though. I'll try to get some new photos tonight or tomorrow after my weekly water change. As of now my clown (who hosts the neon green toasdstool) is in fishy time out in a...
Long time no update, the tank has been up and running for a couple months now... still dealing with a bit of algae but my beefed up cleaning crew went in today so that should clear up. Loving the tank still! Here are some shots from today, not the best as it was very bright in the house and I...
Glad you finally got the crab out, sorry it didn't go exactly the way you wanted... I still have my little white racing stripe red eyed crab living in my sump should you really feel the need to own one he's happily yours LOL he was living in my aquapod for almost a year before I even saw him...
Hi.
Probably not since that's almost an hour each way... shipping maybe? PM me price info and if shipping is an option. I did find several places online but shipping is usually high or it takes forever since it's coming from god knows where and I'd like to get it this coming week if possible.
