You mix a paste that will go through a plunger....obviously you cannot have a power head pointed right at the area but the paste stays together fairly well and then just helps your calcium after.

Likely the skimmer will go a bit nuts anyways so do watch it as Empire stated. They can get into anything.
On a related note I got a sea hare which was doing great until it decided to rub up against the maxijet I have burried in the rocks. He didn't get sucked in but couldn't get away thus...

If you can get some water from one of the LFS do it and get your water changed.(crap day for it) I have had it happen creates a mess. Run carbon if you can, maybe a HOB Filter or canister filter you have laying around. I don't know how big the RBTA, but you have a lot of biodegradable materials...
