Agree with Ed, 200 sounds normal for this area. Certainly better than Arizona.....1200 and up.

    MarsAqua LED Mod

Wow Joe, I'm surprised! I would have guessed you wanted more blue. Maybe it's just me. The two Apollo fixtures I have are 20K (a bunch of blue)....I think the first channel is all blue for these fixtures....and that's what comes on first for my light cycle. It really makes the corals...

New Tank - New to the Hobby - I Need Your Input.

Welcome @Diogenes7 . I'm in agreement with above statements, but since we don't have this tank on a stand, lets start with the stand. You have a choice of using 1 by lumber, 3/4 ply or dimensional lumber, skinned with whatever floats your boat. (You can also go metal, but I was never a...

I found my Log Book starting in 1974

What? That's some pretty nice block printing, if I say so myself. I'd actually bet that Paul took mechanical drawing in High School, the way those letters are printed. Since I suffer from the same affliction, I'll take the bet one step further, and state that his script is so bad, he can't...

What type of lights are over your tank?

I am now all LED.....DT and sump. I originally was all T5's, overdriving the bulbs with IceCap ballasts. Still have a bunch of ballasts and maybe 30 bulbs. However, what hurt was the heat (not as bad and Metal Halide) and the yearly bulb changing costs of approximately $130. Have I...

Tank birthday and I'm a Geezer

Paul, I don't get what you do with the "mud". If I were to put the "mud" from Raritan Bay in my tank, I'd have brown water????

    Kschweers rebuild. 57g rimless

Sorry to see that Kevin. I recently switched to a Waveline DC6000 that I picked up used from Tommyboy. I still have MAG 9.5's ready to jump in there if and when the Waveline dies. I was actually thinking about picking up a Jebao DC6000 as a backup to the Waveline. Now I'll re-think...

    High Magnesium

I have a couple questions.....FYI, the advertised level of Mag in Red Sea Coral Pro salt at 35 PPT is 1350 to 1430 mg/l. 1. What are you using to measure salinity....refractometer, swing arm hydrometer, floating hydrometer, etc? 2. What test kit are you using to measure magnesium?

Need help putting a value on a possible purchase

Well, if you consider new, The Hidden Reef (in Levittown, PA) also sells new tanks at cost....they figure they have you hooked for the rest of the gear.
