I still find it funny that we give out tanks better water then ourselves! LOL
Reread Malulu's post....He has Kati Ani, in fact I think Richie learned from him.
Tanks, that unit pictured does not have DI on the top. That top canister is your membrane. You need to clip on another one of those...
I played with some leds a year ago. Not much research, so I don't know what type etc etc. They were in a housing and hung about 14 inches over a fuge no canopy no splashing and the leds burned out one by one from salt creep. These were advertised as grow lights and also for use on aquariums...
Hey Paul, I have 3 small anems that I think might be majano. But I have not seen a true picture match to ID it for sure. I took 2 pics with my phone and will try to get a better pic tomorrow with the real camera. These do not bulb up and have less tentacles than I usually see. It also stands...
Had copperband and didn't touch them, You sure you have enough zoos? LOL Thanks anyway, they are blue zoos.
Mike cant do that, there were about 12 in between a colony.
Tried this, We'll see what happens...2 days now and half the amt of aptasia, zoos doing ok.
Ed, That was my first thought....May be a mistake by keeping them, We'll see.
LOL, I was going to post this same observation. I may be incorrect and not know how to explain it, but I do believe it is something to do with the photoperiod and corals not having light to process CO2? LOL something like that, In my case, I was wondering where my cyano disappears to like the...
Paintballe48, Sorry I neglected to say I am in south Jersey(30 min south of njtpk exit 7). I am interested however. I would like to see how one of those work.

I think balloons would pop to easily. How do they ship colonies< They don't kust grow at our LFS's? Your balloon idea made me think of those air bags that things are shipped in, but I just threw a bunch away. Bubble wrap the baserock maybe to prevent them from rollong over and still allow water...
I'd like to get a tuxedo. I love the way they look, but hate the way they knock over corals and would be afraid that it would eat my stonies. My brother's urchin chewed right across one of his monticaps and killed that path. Wasn't a tuxedo, but something to watch out for.

Thanks Mike.
Just measured my clam. The big boy is a whopping 11 inches end to end on the shell and 6 inches high. when the mantle is fully open it extends about 2 inches on each end! Needless to say he takes up a lot of realestate! B)

Ps all is well with the tank, but my phosphates...

Yes, that is what we've tried. I do not have a 25 or I would try. One big problem though is that the water that he is pushing along with the drop to the basement is pulverizing anything he catches. This is why I want to try cleaning the tank first at this point and see where it goes from there.

Thanks for the input Phil, But we tried down to 75 or 50 micron(can't remember which one). It is not pet hair, I do believe it is just remnants of the long strands of cyano that are being beaten and chopped up. It is kind of weird looking at it. I think it really needs a good polishing.
