The back, that used to be along the glass is now located across the top and inside that "slot" is the vortex shield. We have yet to come up with a good way to mount this in the tank. We are trying to silicon the suction cup gizmo to what is now the back of the maxi (probably used to be the...

I don't think so, Kat. At least not without modifying it some. The maxi is no longer mounted in that direction. And the vortex shield gets mounted to the "top" where the magnet would slide into. Might be able to make an acrylic L bracket that ties the magnet to the vortex shield.

Do you have a picture of the generic magnet mount you're using?

We also used a flat head screw driver, a pry bar, a good ruler, super glue, ...
