I forgot to ask. Yours does not have the gold stripes yet right? If not, then it is less than a year old. They don't start turning yellow/gold till they get about a year old.
If you just got one, I would say as soon as possible. It will be a lot easier for them to get along the closer they are introduced. If you can, do not get the other one at the same size so they can establish sex quickly.

I would say that they have to be place upright. Even if it doesnt leak, most canisters work with the water being pumped from the bottom up through the media and out the top. I don't think that will work if you have it on its side.

Matt, I recently purchased a handheld TDS meter that doubles as a thermometer and got simillar results. It turns out that I pushed the thermo button unknowingly and was reading those numbers instead. I'm not saying that is what happened to you, just putting it out there.

Negative. I rarely use my card and it was in my wallet the whole time. Because it was a VISA Debit Card, all of the hacking happened through one of VISA's mainframes, not the banks. All this is happening from overseas from what I was told.
