Is it "flashing" against the substrate or rocks?? Look closer at it to see if you see any signs of ich. Fish, especially tangs will "flash" against something to try to rid themselves of whatever is irritating them. This often causes scratches.
Be careful if using your hands to break off the tube. I had one on one of my mushroom rocks that was getting tangled in the shrooms. My idiot self just used my fingers to snap it off and ended up cutting my thumb in the process. Got lucky with no infection. Use pliers if you have to.

The Aquablue is 12k. I have just two different ones as well. 2 10k and 2 actinic. Nothing special as they are the ones that came with the fixture from Current.
