Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Oh Brian! He fragged that right after you left. Bummer, huh?
Seriously, with all the frag watchers there really wasn't enough time for the fragging demo. The hazard to holding the meeting in his shop!
You could well end up with lessons from 3 to 5 people on how to frag as each type of coral (each coral, in some cases) requires its own way of fragging. Some people will be better at fraggin some corals than others. Branching frogspawn is easy, just break off a branch, same with most SPS...
The February meeting to be held in Bordentown at the home of Dan (DOswari) is slated to be a Calcium Reactor workshop where we'll be building our own reactors. The sooner we have a list of who's interested the sooner we can get good pricing for the compenents we need for the build.
Date: ...
Sorry for the delay, but the December wrapup is now online. Thank you to our writer Brian (ReefDrumz) and Editor in Chief Bob (Ruden).
We'll get to work on that January one and hopefully have it up in less time than it took to get December posted!
I don't know how well it would fit into your house "look" but I saw a guy who did a stone wall around/under his fishtank and it was gorgeous! I'll see if I can dig up some photos.
Good luck with the move.
Great day, the food was great, as was the company. Unfortunately the Giants failed to perform, the only stopping the day from being perfect, lol! I would love to go up there when I could investigate the frag farm in detail and make him tell me all the secrets, lol!
Met lots of new folks that I...
It will clear up sooner or later... it's all a matter of time and bacteria! That diatom filter sounds like a good, fast option and I may borrow it myself to give it a whirl (pun intended, lol).
Throw a shrimp in. As the bacteria start to culture it will weigh down the particulate and allow it to settle out faster. It will also give you a jump start on the cycle. You could always take it out before it gets TOOOOOO nasty...
Looking forward to some pictures once the storm clears!!
The club has lots of Purple, Orange and Green caps. They're easy and forgiving. 10$ a piece for an average size ( 2+ x 2+ ).
I'm working with Rich to get some scrapers up to the meeting. There will be one for raffle as well.
The water thingy came out of our garbage can that we were pouring RO/DI into and we ended up with a very wet basement floor! Glad it wasn't any closer to our POWER PANEL than it was! (same wall, 4' to the left!). If it isn't one thing it sure is another!!
Bill! What did you do to your ballast...
I was going to purchase a ASM G-3 for my 120... but then was overcome by events and it became a 320. I've heard nothing but greatness about the ASM G-3. There's also a skimmer at Trop; a D&S (or something along those lines) that BluesTraveler speaks very highly of. They're on the top shelf...
