I was dosing this for a while, and my acros looked great. Unfortunately is spiked my phosphates as well so just be careful with that. I stopped dosing until I get my phosphates under control. I think it is a good product, but just keep an eye on your phosphates.
Whenever you add fresh water to live rock or live sand it ceases to be live anymore. Your rock needs to be recycled and I would hold off on the sand until you get some saltwater into your tank if you want to keep it live. If you can run your RODI right into the tank and just fill it up, then...
Looks like my Ipad pulled a bit of an auto correct on me, meant to type mckoskers on there. Looking back, it is the whip fin fairy wrasse that is super aggressive, but I still think the long fin would be too much for your tank and for your very peaceful inhabitants. The flashers tend to be...
No it would not be. They are one of, if not the most aggressive of the wrasses. Look at a makos keeps or carpenters flasher. The wetmoralla wrasses would also be appropriate though they are very different from flashers.
We have had it in our display pretty much since we set it up. As long as I keep on the uv bulb changes and keep feeding good food regularly, they shake it off. When we added our black tang back this summer, within a day it was covered in ich but it went away and now months later the fish has...
They are cryptic fish so I am not surprised he is hiding. What was he eating at the fish store? Did you get a tank raised one or wild? How big is it? Live food and feeding at night are good suggestions above.
First off welcome.
Secondly, very good advice to meet a fellow reefer. If that is not possible, IMO the best thing to do is visualize what you want your tank to look like in the future (full reef, fish only, what kind of corals, what kind of fish, etc.) and build it out from there. For...
There was a report on reef builders towards the end of last year for such a device. It would be seneye like, but would constantly test for alk, nitrate, calc, etc etc etc. However, I have seen nothing on it since it was mentioned there and the price was going to be pretty high (IIRC like 600$...
