Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Karen, did you try the little trick of putting a hole in the bottle trap and squiring some taste food into the bottle with a turkey baster......and leave the turkey baster in that hole and every so often re-squirt water to make a snow-globe effect of the food therein. And mysis seems to work...
John, did you try putting a mirror up against the tank to fool the Powder Blue into thinking there were now two in the tank. I tried unsuccessfully to distract a Yellow this way, but the only thing it did was attract my Long Nose Butterfly, who spent hours displaying his spiked dorsal fin...
Everyday is Black Friday, until I sell this pump! It's just too much pump for my little tank.
A brand new, in the box, never saw water, Deepwater DC10 pump with a normal retail price of $259.99....now on sale for half price.....$130. For the 130, I can then buy the pump that's right for my...
Have you guys been playing with the HOME page again....it's screwed up when on my computer. It's hard to tell, but it looks like recent posts are now single letters per line.
The only thing I can say is damsel, damsel, damsel! You have three devil fish in that tank that will attack and eat anything that moves. I'm betting one or more of your damsels took out the shrimp. The only thing missing was the cocktail sauce! :tongue2:
The purpose of a deep sand bed is to have an upper aerobic area and a lower anaerobic. This way you can now have both types of bacteria needed to metabolize detritus. Don't disturb the deep part of the sand bed. You can lightly "vacuum" the very top to remove detritus, but don't mix it up.
John, if interested, and not a member of Sam's, they have this 3600 watt generator on Black Friday sale for $200....with ca $15 shipping. Now that's a deal!
Chris, a lot of 55's are tempered glass.....that can't be drilled. It's not all 55's, but you need to determine if it's tempered or not. Do you know how to do that with polarized sunglasses and a white computer screen?
Ouch Chris! Right before Thanksgiving. Hope your recover goes well.
Well I think I'm done with soccer for the season, so I'll be around. I believe I did my last group of outdoor games today. And I've decided to not do indoor this year. So I'm around.
John, the best I can do is tell you my experience with my 3650W, $299 generator from Sam's Club. Here's what I ran 24/7 during 7+ days of Sandy:
Entire tank....everything
Refrigerator/Freeze
Boiler for the house
Television
A couple lights
Note that I did not use it for any food heating...
