something in your tank might be bothering it. Do you have any hermits? i have frogspawn that did the same thing. after looking at it closely a hermit had made itself comfortable after it shed it's shell and was waiting for it to harden. I guess it felt safe in there.
just my two cents
Harry
buying dead rock in most instances is the cheapest way to go, and all you need is a small piece or two of live rock and it will seed itself with bacteria and coraline algae in no time flat

holy cow, now that's a tank. But in that house it fits and looks like it belong. I love the hydraulic lift idea. Must be nice to have throwaway money like that. that's the type of house a 12x4x4 belongs in.
I'm so jealous. and i meant 30" tall not wide. Width isn't the issue. But either way i...
I think 12x4x4 isn't realistic for most people, Are there people that have tanks that big? yes there are. If i had the room, money and someone to clean it then yes i would do love to have a tank that big

Thanks Mike,
That's my issue exactly. I guess having a deep sand bed 3-4 inches would make it more manageable. Any feedback would be great
thanks
Harry
I would have to agree with what you said, i've owned glass tanks my whole life with no issues but maybe i'm just paranoid as i get older. and besides the thought of lifting that 300lbs+ tank is making me lean towards acrylic but who knows. i have some thinking to do
thanks

I am currently in the planning stages of upgrading my 75 to a 150 or 180 not sure yet, but i have some questions and a little apprehension. I had dimensions in my mind and size that i want. I know i want 72" in length and 24" depth and the perfect height would be 20" which would make it 150g...
I agree with John, i think most people have araganite sand so you would think this would be common, but like i said i've never heard of it
thanks
Harry
the only way to remove it is by manually removing the bubbles without breaking them. using emerald crabs which are hit or miss or by removing the rock and baking it in the over at 400 for about an hour like i did. It worked like a charm
Harry
she is probably turning into a male that's why all the aggression is occuring. It is a very common event in the Anthias species. It's a random thing that occurs very often and to most people
Harry
you guys crack me up, I was thinking about getting a wrasse but with all the carpet surfing you guys keep mentioning, i might have to reconsider. they would just be an expensive tasty treat for my cats.

I had Cyano when i first started my tank, nothing bad though and it went away fairly quickly on its own. I think phosphates might be the culprit. good luck though
Harry
you should be ok with the way your doing it. you might have to do a water change a couple days after you reset your tank up but it shouldn't be an issue.
they are very popular little fish but unfortunately most don't live longer then a year or so from what i have read. There was an interesting article on their life cycle in national geograhic. they are reef safe from what i have read
Zoas multiply by budding. They grow faster in some tank then in others. I don't think from what i read that you can speed up the process. I think the speed at which they grow is dependent on the Zoa and the environment it is housed in. But i could be wrong
