Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
welcome to the "rat race"! ;) Yes - work - it can be a grind. But it does help to finance our love for this hobby!! ;D ;D
I was hopping along a website (i forget where) and mentioned macna in atlantic city - and one guy was like "if i go, i'm going to visit vangvace's tank!".
You are...
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
Thanks Roy!
I just saw this on candi's for sale thread - I thought it was really neat:
DIY PVC Burrow for Blenny/gobies
At 0.5 to 1.5 mm sand grains - my sand is probably too small and perhaps too shallow for a goby - but with the diy...
I've had LR on my old 55 for the past 4 years - no cracks. Rock was placed on glass, then sand.
I didn't do egg crate this go round either - just LR on glass, then sand.
Think of it this way - if LR on glass can cause the glass to fail - every body who has a bare bottom tank is a disaster...
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
I see someone is padding again.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
What can I say - I was an ignorant NY guy with great NY water. All of this RODI stuff is new to me! ;D
Don't put the magnet directly on the sand - try it thru the bag first - see if the magnet sticks to the bag. My mag float "kinda" stuck to the bag. When I dropped the tunze 6200 magnet (the super strong ones) - it attracted the black sand like a science project.
I still like the look though -...
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
astute you are! I re-checked the numbers today and I must've had a contaminated sample.
Water in: 345
RO: 25
RODO: 0
Is 25 still too high? I will do another test and try and get an average out of the RO.
Well - it's in the tank...
honestly i'm not sure - the distance of the pump inside the stand also impacts how much water it can push. I guess by the time the water goes all the way up to the top of the tank, you're looking at least 6 feet - so with that much head - yeah now that i think of it a 1262 might be perfect...
That's interesting that the stand was not designed to accomodate the corner overflow. Oh - I guess the stand is made by AGA right? that makes sense the AGA's all have the overflows off-center.
If Taz is right, then if they are slip connections - then the only thing you can do (if you really...
agree with ed.
If you can't make your own RODI - you'll have to rely on purchasing water from the LFS.
in terms of planning - fish wise I think a clown is neat and even better that you can get them captive/bred/tank raised.
Then depending on the size of the tank you might be able to add say...
Re: My Oceanic Tech 120 and a request for input.
and for post 901...we want a FTS! Quit helping the club so much with GB's and post some pics on your thread already. ;D ;D (i jest...help the club AND post pics!!).
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
Oh - some minor journal updates:
Water before RO: 345
Water after RO: 112
Water after DI: 0
I have a feeling though I'll be changing the membrane and DI frequently given how lousy the water in this town is. I was telling MAVL this -...
Re: AGA 120 (very few pictures and lots of dull writing)
I have one bag left - I took my reefgadget mag float out and took a pic...you can see how the mag float is "stuck" on the bag.
I wonder if the bags of sand were somehow kept near a magnet for a long time and the minerals in the bag...
when I started - I used a 29gallon connected to a state of the art (sarcasm) wet dry filter. It also had a state of the art (sarcasm) underwater gravel filter!
These days though - the new all-in-one tanks are pretty amazing and while I have no experience with them - I think that would be the...
yes - if it's going straight down into your stand - that would work. At longer lengths (4 feet) I find the flex starts to curve and kink in strange ways.
curious...in the first pic - it looks like someone cut/broke something from the frame there under the overflow....what happened?
